Talent Tree Guide: All Branches Explained
Date Published

The Talent Tree in Windrose lets you specialize your character with passive abilities that enhance your combat effectiveness. With four branches and 39 talents spread across three tiers, the choices you make here will define your playstyle. This guide covers every branch, every tier, and how to plan your build.
How the Talent System Works
Talents are organized into four branches: Fencer, Crusher, Marksman, and Toughguy. Each branch has three tiers (Tier 0, Tier 1, and Tier 2), with higher tiers requiring more talent points to unlock. You earn talent points as you level up, and while you can spread points across multiple branches, focusing on one branch first ensures you reach the powerful Tier 2 talents faster.
Fencer Branch (10 Talents)
The Fencer branch is designed for one-handed melee weapon users who favor speed, precision, and counterattacks. It synergizes best with Sabers and Rapiers.

Build Planning Tips
Focus one branch first to reach Tier 2 talents quickly, then branch out for utility picks from Toughguy.
Toughguy Tier 0 talents (Marathon Runner, Just a Flesh Wound) are valuable dips for any build.
Fencer and Crusher are mutually exclusive in practice since they favor different weapon types, but either can pair well with Marksman if you want a ranged backup option.
Respeccing is possible, so do not be afraid to experiment early on.
