Deadly Hunter

Deadly Hunter is a Tier 2 Marksman talent that grants a 3%, 9%, or 15% chance to instantly reload your weapon on kill. While the effect is probabilistic rather than guaranteed, it shines in encounters with multiple enemies where each kill is an opportunity to skip a reload entirely and immediately begin firing at the next target. At rank 3, roughly one in seven kills triggers the instant reload, creating moments of fluid, uninterrupted combat that feel incredibly rewarding.

This talent complements the reload-focused duo of Planning Ahead and Quick Hand by adding a third layer of reload efficiency that activates at the most impactful moment: right after a kill, when you want to transition immediately to the next threat. Deadly Hunter pairs particularly well with Bulletstorm, since an instant reload preserves your consecutive hit stacks that would otherwise decay during a normal reload animation. Pistol users, who kill more frequently due to faster target acquisition, will trigger the effect more often than Musket users, making this a stronger pick for rapid-fire builds.

From a build perspective, Deadly Hunter is a solid but not essential Tier 2 investment. Its value is highest in builds that already emphasize sustained fire and target-switching speed, and lowest in single-target sniper builds where kills are infrequent. If you are running a Pistol-focused Muzzle Reach build with Bulletstorm, max Deadly Hunter to rank 3 for the best chance of maintaining your damage momentum. For Musket sniper builds centered on Sniper's Focus and Extended Reach, the points are better spent elsewhere, such as on Overpenetration. Pair with the Marksman's Rig armor to round out a comprehensive ranged loadout.
