Muzzle Reach is a Tier 1 choice-node talent in the Marksman branch that grants 4%, 12%, or 20% bonus damage to targets within 10 meters. This talent is the close-range counterpart to Extended Reach and caters to aggressive Marksman players who prefer to fight at shorter distances. Pistol users in particular will find Muzzle Reach invaluable, as their effective range naturally favors engagements where enemies are nearby and damage windows are brief but intense.

Choosing Muzzle Reach over Extended Reach fundamentally shapes your playstyle. Where Extended Reach rewards patient, long-distance sniping, Muzzle Reach encourages a mobile, in-your-face approach that pairs well with Toughguy survivability talents like Just a Flesh Wound and Outnumbered. Since you will be operating near enemies, the melee damage reduction and crowd-proximity bonuses from the Toughguy branch help you survive the heat. Bulletstorm also shines alongside Muzzle Reach, as close-range combat typically means larger targets and easier consecutive hits to build stacks.

For build recommendations, Muzzle Reach at rank 3 is ideal for hybrid Marksman-Toughguy builds that want to deal heavy ranged damage without staying at the back line. Equip Pistols for rapid fire, invest in Firearm Training and Deep Impact for raw damage scaling, and supplement with Tracker's Leathers or Conquistador's Armor for survivability in close quarters. Players who are confident in their positioning and prefer to kite at distance should instead consider Extended Reach. Remember, this is a choice node, so you cannot take both.
