Stout Frame is a Tier 2 Toughguy talent that increases your maximum Health by 160, 240, or 320 points depending on rank. Unlike percentage-based survivability talents, Stout Frame provides a flat health increase that benefits every other defensive and healing talent in the Toughguy tree. A larger health pool means more effective Temporal Health generation from You Will Answer for This, more damage reduction thresholds for Pain Tolerance, and a higher absolute value when Too Angry to Die restores a percentage of your max health.

Stout Frame serves as the foundation that makes all other Toughguy talents more effective. Stitches and Rum's percentage-based healing restores more actual health when your pool is larger. Pain Tolerance's damage reduction thresholds, which trigger every 15% of health lost, represent larger absolute health ranges with a bigger pool, meaning each threshold absorbs more total damage before the next one activates. The Vitality attribute stacks additively with Stout Frame, and the Conquistador's Armor set adds further defensive bonuses that synergize with having more health to protect. Together, these investments create a character with an enormous effective health pool.

For build advice, Stout Frame at rank 3 is a cornerstone of every serious Toughguy build. The 320 health bonus at max rank is substantial and improves the return on every other talent point you have spent in the branch. Dedicated tanks should treat this as a mandatory investment alongside Pain Tolerance and Too Angry to Die for maximum survivability. Hybrid Marksman-Toughguy builds that fight at mid-range should pick up at least rank 2, as the extra health provides a buffer against mistakes and unexpected damage spikes. Even rank 1 offers a meaningful boost for builds that only dip lightly into Toughguy.
