Workbench

The Workbench is a fundamental crafting station used to produce basic tools, Rope, Coarse Fabric, Hewn Stone, and Nails. These materials are essential building blocks for nearly every other structure and piece of equipment in the game. Without a Workbench, progression beyond the earliest stages is impossible.

Place the Workbench under a roof for protection and keep it stocked with raw materials like wood, stone, and plant fibers. The items crafted here feed into recipes at the Weaponsmith, Armor and Clothing Workshop, Smelting Furnace, and many other advanced stations. Rope and Nails in particular are consumed in large quantities, so consider batch-crafting them whenever you have surplus resources.

The Workbench should be one of the first stations you build after placing your Bonfire. Its low material cost and high utility make it indispensable throughout the entire game, from early-game tool production to late-game material processing for base expansion and ship construction at the Shipwright's Workshop.
