Planks are a raw building material scavenged from shipwreck debris washed up on beaches. Unlike Wooden Planks crafted at a Workbench, these Planks are found ready-made in the environment, making them a convenient early resource for players who explore coastal areas.

Search the shorelines and beaches of starter islands for broken ship hulls, crates, and scattered wooden debris. Interacting with these objects will yield Planks. Shipwreck sites can sometimes contain other useful loot as well, so a thorough search is worthwhile.

Planks serve as an early building material, useful for constructing basic structures and shelters before you have the means to produce Wooden Planks at a Workbench. They can fill the same role in several building recipes, giving resourceful beachcombers a head start on establishing a base.
