Planks

Nails are a crafted fastening component produced at the Workbench. They are essential for construction and appear in numerous building recipes throughout the game. As a processed resource, Nails bridge the gap between raw metal ingots and finished structures.

Nails can be crafted at the Workbench using either 1 Copper Ingot to produce 5 Nails, or 1 Iron Ingot to produce 10 Nails. The Iron Ingot recipe is significantly more efficient, so once you reach mid-game and have access to iron smelting, switching over will save materials.

As a core building material, Nails are consumed in large quantities when constructing walls, floors, roofs, and other structural elements. They also appear in recipes for furniture, ship components, and certain crafting station upgrades. Keeping a dedicated stockpile of Nails will prevent bottlenecks during major building projects.
