Wood

Wood is the most fundamental resource in Windrose and the backbone of nearly every crafting recipe in the game. Gathered by chopping down trees found across all island biomes, it is one of the first materials any player will collect upon starting their journey. With over 40 recipes requiring Wood, it remains relevant from the earliest stages of play through the endgame.

To gather Wood, simply equip any axe and begin felling trees. Trees are plentiful on starter islands and respawn over time, so running out is rarely a concern. For efficient farming, focus on clusters of trees near your base camp to minimize travel time.

Wood is used in constructing buildings, crafting tools, building workstations, and producing processed materials like Wooden Planks and Timber at the Workbench. It also serves as a component in Rope, Coarse Fabric, Clay Pot, and many other essential recipes.
