Gunpowder

Gunpowder is an explosive compound essential for ranged weapon ammunition and various combat-related recipes. It can be obtained by looting defeated pirates or crafted at the Millstone from Sulfur and Ash. Access to Gunpowder dramatically expands a player's combat options.

The fastest way to acquire Gunpowder early is by defeating pirates and looting their supplies. For a more sustainable source, craft it at the Millstone using 25 Sulfur and 25 Ash to produce 5 Gunpowder. Both ingredients require some effort to accumulate: Sulfur comes from mining on advanced islands, and Ash is a byproduct of Charcoal production at the Charcoal Kiln.

Gunpowder is the key ingredient in crafting ammunition for firearms and other ranged weapons. It also appears in explosive-related recipes and certain advanced crafting formulas.
