Hardwood

Hardwood is a premium wood resource harvested from Divi-divi trees found on mid-tier islands. It is significantly tougher and more durable than standard Wood, and it features in over 65 crafting recipes. Hardwood is the workhorse material of mid-game crafting and construction.

Divi-divi trees are distinctive in appearance, with gnarled trunks and wind-shaped canopies. They grow on mid-tier islands across various biomes. Chop them with an axe just like regular trees, but expect each tree to yield Hardwood instead of standard Wood. Scouting an island for Divi-divi groves before setting up camp will save time.

Hardwood is used in advanced building recipes, weapon and armor crafting, station construction, and as the input for Charcoal production at the Charcoal Kiln (each Hardwood yields 2 Charcoal + 1 Ash). Its dual role as both a crafting material and a fuel source makes it exceptionally valuable. Prioritize Hardwood gathering whenever you visit mid-tier islands.
